👾🐝 Barbee - Less Clutter, More Focus

I have been using an app for a long time called Bartender for the Mac.

Bartender is a Mac app that helps you organize and control your menu bar icons. It lets you hide, rearrange, and quickly access menu bar items, keeping your menu bar clean and uncluttered while still giving you access to everything when you need it.

I hold licenses since version 3 and when I switched to Setapp, I continued using it until the current version 6. I noticed that since version 5 (for me) the became very unstable. I owned a M1max and now I own a M5Pro. Version 6 have never ran error free for me. Very buggy and at times I just disabled the app, because then I had easier access to menubar. It defeated its own purpose.

A bit disappointed with Bartender I started to look around for an alternative. I found one the app Barbee. Sold in the Mac AppStore. My impression is that the developers of Barbee took a good look at Bartender. But then much more stable. Since I use Barbee my out-of-the-way menu-icon are always accessible.

Barbee is lighter, more modern, and focuses on automatically cleaning up a crowded menu bar. Bartender offers more advanced customization and controls, but for many users Barbee is simpler, faster, and easier to use.

And in my case Barbee is more stable.

The home cleaning 🧼 is done for the day. Weather is sort of okay. Tonight visiting a restaurant in Dodewaard which was very nice in the past, but has new management since a while. I hope 🤞🏻 it’s still good. Otherwise it will be the last time we’ve been there.
